Job description

To assist in the provision of care to service users and work as part of a team to achieve required standards.

Responsibilities

• Assisting client in carrying out self care tasks including personal washing, dressing, eating, continence care and personal appearance.
• Providing duties in each clients room to ensure beds are made up and changed as appropriate; adequate disposal of incontinence products.
• Ensuring clients are provided with refreshments and light snacks as appropriate.
• Observing care planning needs for clients.
• To help promote as much personal, physical independence and choice as possible.
• Uphold service users' rights and preserve dignity.
• To ensure the delivery of care services are meeting the required standard as laid out at induction training, and set out by NISCC.
• Report immediately any illness, accident or incident to a client as per company policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Understanding of confidentiality and demonstrate motivation, reliability and commitment to team working and the development of others.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in care setting.
• NVQ 2 in Care or willingness to work towards.
