Quality Engineer


Job description

Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their growing team in Lisburn. This hands-on technical role leads quality activities to ensure customer requirements are consistently delivered across Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) value streams. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), ensuring compliance with customer, company, and regulatory standards. Working within the Global Supply Chain function, the role focuses on product and process performance while collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to enhance customer experience and reduce the cost of poor quality.

Responsibilities

  • Embrace & practice GEV LEAN Operating Principles (SQDC) & GE Vernova Way.
  • Maintain compliance of the production site to all applicable regulatory, industry, company and quality standards. (Eg. ISO 9001, IPC 610, IPC 620).
  • Ownership of production related non-conformance, including Containment, investigation and implementation of robust countermeasures.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality issues and resolutions in the system of record.
  • Oversee Calibration and maintenance of process monitoring and measuring equipment within assigned Value Streams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to identify and implement improvements to Product & Process.
  • Drive Business Quality performance metrics.
  • Operationalize GA QMS policies/procedures/WI/control for production operations.
  • Support external audits, customer visits/requests for information, factory acceptance test etc.
  • Ensure effective implementation of product and process changes including New Product. Introduction into production environment.
  • Capture, review and reduce Cost of Poor Quality.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Quality Engineering or similar quality role.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex technical issues using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, 8D, Kaizen).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, managing multiple projects with strict deadlines.
  • Strong time-management and prioritisation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong customer-focused mindset, with the ability to link structured problem-solving and value-stream improvements to customer outcomes and business performance.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and work cross-functionally to promote a strong quality culture.
  • Engaging, proactive, and committed to continuous professional development.
  • Experience managing supplier non-conformances.
  • Qualified Internal Auditor for Quality Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated Lean experience and continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on simplifying processes and eliminating waste.
  • Recent, practical experience delivering results against organizational goals.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
