Cook Manager - Corkey House
Job description
The role of the Cook Manager is to plan and cook nutritional meals (including baking) to meet the needs of the residents, within the Christian ethos and aims of Corkey House. Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation, cooking and baking.
- Stock ordering and management.
- To prepare vegetables.
- To prepare snacks (e.g. tea, sandwiches, supper’s etc).
- To serve food.
- To clean and tidy work areas in the kitchen, including shelves, drawers and cooker.
- To wash dishes.
- To clean floors, tiles and appliances.
- To take rubbish to bins.
- To take part in staff meetings within the home.
- To take part in any training sessions held in the home.
- To carry out any other reasonable duty which is necessary for the support and well-being of the residents.
- The above duties will require the moving of furniture.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Evidence an understanding of and respect for the needs of older people.
- Awareness of health and safety practices within a catering and residential environment.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Experience of catering outside a domestic setting.

Work Time: Hours, 33.25 (28.5 hrs week 1 & 38 hrs week 2), to be confirmed. We are an equal opportunities employer.
