Fitness Coach/Trainee Coach
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: THE BAR HEALTH & FITNESS This is a new position designed to support the delivery and development of coaching services within the gym. The Fitness Coach/Trainee Coach will work alongside experienced coaches to assist with group sessions, member support and gym floor activities. Where applicable, the role will support a trainee coach in working towards relevant fitness qualifications, providing structured experience and skills development within a supportive fitness environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist qualified coaches during group training sessions and classes.
- Supporting members on the gym floor, including equipment set-up, guidance, and encouragement (within scope of training and qualifications).
- Helping to prepare and set up sessions, including equipment layout and studio preparation.
- Supporting a positive, inclusive and motivating training environment for members.
- Assisting with member engagement and retention, helping new members feel welcomed and supported.
- Observing and learning safe exercise techniques, coaching methods and class delivery.
- Supporting basic health and safety procedures, including equipment checks and cleanliness of training areas.
- Where applicable, working towards or holding a fitness qualification, with training and development supported as part of the role.
