Community Café Support Worker
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: FOCUS The Community Café Support Worker will assist in the setup, daily operation, and maintenance of a welcoming community café space. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hospitality, customer service, and community engagement within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily opening and closing of the café.
- Support the preparation and serving of food and non-alcoholic drinks (where applicable)
- Provide friendly, professional, and inclusive customer service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café.
- Clean tables, work areas, and equipment in line with health and safety guidance.
- Assist with stock control, including checking deliveries and monitoring supplies.
- Ensure equipment is used safely and report any faults or maintenance issues.
- Support the general day-to-day running of the café under supervision.
- Contribute to creating a welcoming, safe, and positive community environment.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- No prior experience required - full training will be provided.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
- Interest in hospitality or community work.
- Basic understanding of customer service.
- Awareness of health and safety in a workplace setting.
