Social Enterprise Support Worker

THE EMPLOYER IS: HEAD INJURY SUPPORT The Social Enterprise Support Worker will provide front-line support within the Living in Colour Social Enterprise, working alongside adults with acquired brain injuries (ABI) to support their participation in product design and production activities. The role also includes responsibility for stock management, order fulfilment, and customer service to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Arts Coordinator in product design and production, including use of IT and creative software (e.g. Canva, Cricut and other relevant tools).
  • Assist with packaging, stock control, and inventory management.
  • Provide hands-on, person-centred support to adults with acquired brain injuries (ABI) to enable meaningful participation in enterprise activities.
  • Serve customers, handle payments, and maintain accurate sales records.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and respond appropriately to customer feedback.
  • Attend monthly Social Enterprise planning meetings to review progress and contribute to development planning.
  • Adhere to organisational policies including Health & Safety, safeguarding, and GDPR requirements.
  • Participate in training and professional development as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Experience in a customer-facing or retail environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic IT competency.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage stock and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and health & safety standards.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with adults with additional support needs.
  • Experience in social enterprise, community projects, or the voluntary sector.
  • Experience in stock management or small-scale production environments.

The Employer is: HEAD INJURY SUPPORT JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
