Fieldfisher is a European law firm with market leading practices in technology, financial services, energy & natural resources and life sciences. What does the Partnership Tax team do? The Partnership Tax team supports the firm with all tax related matters linked to the partnership structure. This includes preparing partner tax returns, managing partner profit allocations, handling HMRC submissions, monitoring key tax deadlines, supporting annual tax cycles, and working closely with partners and internal finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. The role would appeal to someone who has an interest in tax, numbers, working with people, problem solving, and wants to understand how tax works within a large professional services firm. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys analytical work, spotting patterns, and working through detailed information. You’ll gain a solid grounding in how partnership tax operates and how the team supports partners and the wider business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare partner tax packs
- Support HMRC submissions
- Gain hands on experience across key areas of the Partnership Tax function
- Review and compile tax documentation
- Assist with year end processes
- Help respond to day to day queries from partners and internal teams
- Work on large international projects, liaising with overseas offices and partners
- Develop a strong understanding of how tax underpins the financial operations of a law firm
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English, IT and Maths grades 9-6 (A-C)
- The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
