Join Northern Regional College in Ballymena as a Catering Technician and support the day-to-day operation of busy campus catering facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to work within an educational environment, helping deliver an efficient and high-quality service while supporting students and staff across the campus. You will provide crucial technical and catering support across campus facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of the Canteen, Training Restaurant, Training Kitchens, and associated classrooms supporting both lecturing staff and students. About the role: £13.21 per hour Monday - Friday (36 hours per week) Health & Wellbeing Initiatives Free Parking Temporary role approximately to Easter (possibility of extension)

Responsibilities

• Ensuring campus catering areas operate efficiently, hygienically, and to a high standard, contributing to an enjoyable and productive environment for staff and students alike
• Provide technical and catering support for practical curriculum areas, including the Canteen, Training Restaurant, Training Kitchens, and related classrooms.
• Assist lecturers and students in using these areas.
• Help deliver the required levels of catering services for college staff, students, and other users during set operating hours.
• Cash handling duties.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• 1 year's catering experience including responsibility for cooking / technical support (within an educational or similar setting is preferred)
• Level 2 or equivalent in Catering
• Food Hygiene qualification
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work well with lecturing staff, students, and other campus users to provide exceptional service
• Comfortable with cash handling and ensuring accurate transactions
• Able to work independently
• Willing to complete an Access NI
