Events and Social Media Assistant


Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: BUSINESS IN THE COMMUNITY (BITC) We are seeking an Events and Social Media Assistant to help with the planning and delivery of education events and develop education focused social media content for our Time to, LifeSkills and Work Inspiration projects. Full training and mentoring support will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • IT and administrative support in planning education events - live and online.
  • Researching information on the internet or using AI tools to inform the education team's work for primary and post-primary.
  • School visits to gather video content using a smartphone, conduct interviews with teachers and students, ensuring permission forms are signed and submitted within BITC.
  • Working with our Digital Officer to create short, snappy videos that promote our work in schools and our work is profile appropriately.

  • Communication skills - Receiving, retaining, and processing information. Transmitting information or ideas and developing solid IT and administrative skills.
  • Teamwork - Ability to work cooperatively with others to achieve a shared goal.

  • Problem solving - Finding solutions to challenges.
  • Creativity - Using imagination and generating new ideas especially with digital social content.

Desirable Skills

  • An interest in using social media platforms.
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages, particularly Outlook and Word.
  • A desire to learn.

The Employer is: BUSINESS IN THE COMMUNITY (BITC) JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information - Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. - Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. - Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
