Trainee Play Assistant
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: NAÍSCOIL GHREANACHÁIN To support the pre-school leader and deputy in delivering early years education and play experiences.
Responsibilities
- To set up and clear away a range of practical play activities.
- To supervise outdoor play.
- To assist with emotional and social development of young children.
- To promote early Irish language vocabulary.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Excellent record keeping skills (in regard to play observations, child attendance, incident records such as health and safety slips, falls, knocks etc).
- ICT skills (use of computers to produce arts and crafts worksheets etc).
- Learn about child development, the promotion of early language and socialisation.
Desirable Skills
- Organisational skills for preparing play equipment and activities.
- Health and safety skills linked to snack preparation.
- Ability or interest in simple Irish language is advantageous.
