Facilities Maintenance Officer
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: MORNINGTON COMMUNITY PROJECT To maintain high standards in the appearance and hygiene of Mornington’s building. Ensuring building interior and exterior remain fit for purpose and in a good state of repair.
Responsibilities
- Complete funding applications as part of the team.
- Perform cleaning activities, such as, dusting, mopping etc.
- Perform minor fixes and repairs.
- Checking control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
- Install appliances and equipment.
- Maintain gardens and exterior.
- Conduct small maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs etc.
- Refuse maintenance.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
- Check functionality of safety systems fire alarms etc.
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during larger maintenance and renovation projects.
- Report to Line Manager for issues.
- Maintenance of user signage.
- Conducting quarterly deep cleans.
- Responsibility for opening and locking up, including key-holder responsibility.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical, alarm and safety systems.
- Experience using hand and electrical tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dexterity.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in same or similar role.
- Fire Safety training.
- Food Hygiene level 2.
- First Aid training.

The Employer is: MORNINGTON COMMUNITY PROJECT JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
