Responsibilities
- Organising and facilitating reactive (defects) and annual planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule for all site accommodation and grounds which includes regular facility inspections.
- Facilitating and overseeing statutory compliance maintenance and associated remedials - full site wide and includes inspections of the quality and completeness of works.
- Ensuring the Permit-to-Work / Hot Works /Working at height system is managed to control the admittance of contractors to the site and confirm that works have been successfully conducted and work areas left in a safe and tidy state.
- Act as Fire Precautions Officer, ensuring all fire safety management duties are undertaken in accordance with NICS Fire Safety Manual including the recruitment and management of fire wardens in conjunction with Officer in Charge for the site.
- Ensuring site security procedures are in place and managed to make the premises, assets and staff secure and safe. This includes proactive management of the site wide access control and CCTV systems in conjunction with the DAERA Security Co-ordinator
- and ensuring all policies relating to the safety and security of the premises are fully implemented.
- Operational management of cleaning contractors on site and ensure key performance indicators are met and cleaning is maintained to the agreed performance level.
- Operational management of grounds maintenance contractors on site and ensure key performance indicators are met and grounds are maintained to the agreed performance level.
- Contribute to the overall Health & Safety management of the SPS facility site liaising with DAERA Health and Safety Management and Advisors as and when required. The officer will be required to be a trained and certified First Aider.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Applicants must, by the closing date for applications - Have five GCSEs including Maths & English Language (Grades A-C for subjects specified) or equivalent
- AND Have 6 months’ experience working in a relevant premises role.
- OR Have 12 months’ experience working in a relevant role.
- AND Have demonstrable experience in software programs related to the management of facilities, resources and services which should include the use of Microsoft Office and online management systems
- AND Have demonstrable experience of effective communication with staff, goods and services providers and stakeholders, setting and prioritising goals to help achieve business objectives.
