Sales Assistant / Van Driver
Job description
The Sales Assistant will work across the Plant department within the centre, providing assistance and support to both customers and colleagues, ensuring great service is delivered and the centre high standards area maintained.
Responsibilities
- Providing exceptional service to customers in the centre, to deliver upon our reputation for quality.
- The role requires working outside throughout the year, offloading plant trolleys from weekly deliveries.
- Watering, pricing & of merchandising of plants.
- Ensuring the plant department & surrounding areas are kept clean, tidy, organised and safe at all times, in line with company standards.
- Acquiring product knowledge and attending relevant training as required, using such knowledge to provide recommendations and help customers find the best product for their needs.
- Building relationships with our customers to fully identify their needs and allow us to provide a comprehensive service.
- Van driving, delivering customers items purchased in store and online.
- Perform any other duties as required from time-to-time.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Previous experience of working within a similar retail environment.
- Knowledge or interest in gardening, plants and outdoors.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and undertake the required work which includes bending, stooping, lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Willing to undertake manual handling training.
- Able to work independently.
- Good communication skills.
- Full valid UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Previous work experience in a role which involved plant and plant care or other similar products.
- Strong general knowledge of plants & plant care & keen to learn.
- Experience of working within a customer facing role.
