THE EMPLOYER IS: OH PAPI LTD The Front of House Assistant will be responsible for delivering fast, friendly service and ensuring every customer enjoys the full OH Papi experience. From taking orders and handling payments to maintaining a clean and inviting dining area, this role keeps the vibe positive and the service smooth.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every guest creating a positive first impression that reflects OH Papi’s energetic Mexican vibe.
  • Promote daily specials, combos, or new items, and up-sell add ons (e.g. guacamole, drinks, desserts) to enhance the customer experience.
  • Accurately take customer orders in-person, online, or by phone, ensuring clarity on preferences, customisations, and dietary requirements.
  • Manage cash transactions securely, balance tills at the end of shifts, and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Competently operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for order entry, payments, refunds, and receipts, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
  • Handle complaints or customer concerns calmly, courteously, and promptly, escalating to management when necessary to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain flow during busy periods by managing queues, coordinating with kitchen staff, and prioritising orders effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all food preparation and storage areas, ensuring compliance with EHO standards.
  • Adhere strictly to OH Papi’s food safety policies and HACCP procedures.
  • Understand allergen procedures and labelling to prevent cross-contamination, in line with OH Papi’s Allergen Matrix. and customer information boards.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of OH Papi’s menu, ingredients, spice levels, portion sizes, and allergens to confidently guide customers in their choices.
  • Prepare and package food orders efficiently for both dine-in and takeaway, maintaining presentation standards.
  • Liaise with delivery partners (via the OH Papi app and third-party platforms) to ensure timely, accurate dispatch of online orders.
  • Where applicable, serve food and drinks to tables, ensuring all orders are complete and customers have everything they need.
  • Operate beverage machines, food warmers, and point-of-sale systems safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor and restock front-of-house items (napkins, sauces, cutlery, drinks, packaging) to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Communicate low stock, maintenance issues, or system errors to the manager immediately.
  • Support the brand’s commitment to sustainability by reducing food waste, conserving resources, and recycling properly.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
