Job description

The post holder, upon direction from the bank manager, will be responsible for facilitating education and development within the bank service, initially for nursing and midwifery teams and for other staff groups with the Belfast Trust as the service expands. They will collaborate with key individuals, including clinical educators, nursing development leads, ward sisters / charge nurses and human resources vocational learning team. The post holder will play a key role in supporting and facilitating learning, focused on enabling staff to work in a person-centered approach. They will provide a daily presence as a key member of the bank management team to support learning and development of all banks only nursing and midwifery workers, in particular those new to their roles as newly qualified nurses, including international nurses. They will also work with key stakeholders across the Trust in identifying education and developmental needs and meeting these in innovative ways. Responsibilities

• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base ensuring professional and clinical credibility. This will involve role modelling as a registered bank nurse.
• Ensure regular evaluation of effectiveness of own role.
• Provide leadership that facilitates professional decision making and effective team working.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise by role modelling person centered practice to others.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Registered Nurse Part 1 (Adult), on the NMC Register.
• Have a Nursing Degree AND 3 years’ post registration experience within an Acute Health Setting.
• Knowledge and experience of using the following applications: Microsoft Word / Excel / Powerpoint / Teams.
• Evidence of post registration personal and professional development for a minimum of 2 years.
