Nurse Education Consultant-Mental Health
Job description
The post holder will be responsible for the planning, designing and delivery of nursing in-service education programmes to support the HSC Clinical Education Centre (CEC), in meeting the educational needs of Health and Social Care (HSC) core clients and other healthcare providers across Northern Ireland. Responsibilities
- Act as an ambassador for the HSC CEC communicating effectively and with confidence the vision and purpose of the organisation.
- Develop education programmes in partnership with core clients to support the implementation of regional and local policy direction.
- Use current evidence, research and policy direction to deliver high quality education programmes.
- Work with core clients to identify, assess and respond to the learning and development needs of clinical staff in the promotion of safe, effective person-centred care.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum six years' post registration experience working in Mental Health services.
- Currently registered as a Level 1 Mental Health Registered Nurse with the NMC.
- Primary degree in Nursing or relevant Healthcare subject. Relevant is defined as a subject which is related to health or social science e.g. nursing, psychology, social services or health policy/management.
- Hold a post graduate qualification in teaching or must be willing to complete such a programme within 2 years of appointment.
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
- This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of teaching and or facilitating education for nurses in the clinical, class room or online setting.
