Job description

The Team Leader/Clinical Co-ordinator is responsible to the Community Mental Health Services Manager for managing and leading a Single Point of Access Service in an Assessment Centre as part of the overall delivery of Mental Health Services within the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust. These services are delivered 9.00am-8.00pm over 7 days a week in both hospital and community environments and the post holder will be expected to work flexibly to ensure the delivery of the service. Responsibilities

  • Manage all referral pathways into mental health services, ensuring that the service responds in an appropriate and timely manner to meet agree standards.
  • Manage and lead the multidisciplinary team delivering first point of access services, including Emergency, Urgent, Routine and Card Before You Leave assessment and crisis resolution services.
  • Work in conjunction with other Tier 5 Managers to ensure that access targets are achieved.
  • Ensure continuity of service delivery by working collaboratively with other Tier 5 Managers and key professionals.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Registered as a Social Worker with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council OR Registered Nurse (Mental Health) on the live Register of the Nursing and Midwifery Council OR Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the HCPC.
  • Have two years’ continuous experience at Band 6 or above in an adult mental health setting at least one year of which should be in a community setting.
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
  • This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.

Desirable Skills

  • To have a management qualification and/or experience in managing staff.
