Job description
Maintaining the appointment system in line with practice protocol.
Responsibilities
- Reception and direction of patients to clinics.
- Scan/workflow documents/hospital letter, ensuring that scanning is kept up to date. Process electronic mail.
- Deal with all telephone enquiries ensuring that messages are recorded correctly and passed on to the appropriate person.
- Computer data input & output ensuring efficient reliability of data
- Recording and processing requests for Acute and Repeat prescriptions and liaising with local pharmacies.
- Operation of Practice IT systems. Assisting in the creation, documentation & maintenance of practice records, word processing duties.
- Ensuring patients’ records are maintained
- Meet and greet patient coming to reception and signposting to appropriate health care professional.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Communication skills required for speaking with members of the public on the phone and in person.
- Ability to work in a team and on own.
- Be able to deal with a high volume of calls.
