Assistant Production Technician


Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: FORFEY LTD Reporting in to our Production Technician, this role will involve learning the differences between various production options and understanding the best forms of production and sound for a given venue. The candidate will have the opportunity to go to venues to support in pre-event assessments at some of Northern Ireland’s most iconic locations including the SSE Arena, the Ulster Hall, the Waterfront Hall and the Lyric Theatre, as well as a range of conference/corporate suites, outdoor festivals and church halls/community halls etc.

Responsibilities

  • The employee will learn about stage design for events and effectively adapt staging to suit any given event.
  • The employees will support in the practical construction and deconstruction of live event spaces.
  • Learning about and then using warehouse software to effectively and efficiently prepare equipment to be shipped to locations and venues.
  • Employee will learn how to identify relevant equipment and safely and securely prepare it prior to events.
  • Supporting our Production Technicians with effective layouts and set-ups prior to events plus how to test and adjust set-ups on site.
  • The employee will be trained in the different processes that apply to permanent installations compared to those of rentals and support Production Technicians with physical installations.
  • Employee will be trained and learn how to safely and efficiently load and unload equipment at our warehouse on to our vehicles of different sizes, known as prep and de-prep before and after events.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Maths and English Language GCSEs (C or above).
  • Competent linguistic skills and ability to engage clients in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Agility to work in a fast-paced industry and adaptability to support on projects of differing sizes.
  • Ability to work as part of teams of varying sizes on any given project.

Desirable Skills

  • A basic understanding of production processes for live events.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • An interest in the live events industry.
  • Enthusiasm to learn the different elements of the industry and our projects beyond just production, such as lighting and audio.

Further Information

The Employer is: FORFEY LTD Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak season (summer and Christmas). JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
