Deputy Principal
Job description
Lead on defining and implementing a significant area of a Department’s services. You will assume responsibility for delivery goals, guiding and supporting team leaders in the management of their own teams. Alongside the management of teams, you will often have to develop an expertise in the interpretation and application of the rules and procedures relevant to your working area to enable you to direct the work of your teams and advise staff and colleagues. You will also be required to manage resources in order to successfully deliver a Department’s services within a constantly evolving context and within extremely tight deadlines and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver customer focused solutions and processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage an area of operational delivery.
- Contribute to development and delivery of policy, including HR Policy through research and analysis.
- Contacts and Communications
- Project/Programme Management.
- Decision-making.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience providing effective leadership in setting strategic direction and managing resources, and of taking decisions that contribute to the successful delivery of business objectives in a complex and challenging environment
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of building and maintaining constructive, positive and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including staff and senior managers, to effectively deliver significant organisational objective
