Job description

A Personal Assistant/Carer supporting a 13-year-old child with disabilities requires individualised, person-centred care to promote the child’s safety, wellbeing and independence within the home and community. The role includes assisting with personal care (where required), mobility and transfers, supporting communication needs, facilitating participation in education, social and recreational activities, and implementing therapy or behavioural programmes as directed by parents and relevant professionals. The Personal Assistant works closely with family, maintains a safe environment, and provides emotional reassurance and positive encouragement appropriate to the child’s age and developmental stage, while respecting dignity, privacy and safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities
