Front of House Supervisor / Floor Management


Job description

THE EMPLOYER IS: FISH CITY As a supervisor/floor management staff, you will form a key role in the smooth running of our F&B operations. You will lead by example on the floor, support the restaurant manager and ensure guests receive a consistently excellent dining experience. This is a hands-on role requiring leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily FOH operations during service.
  • Supervise, motivate, and support the FOH team.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service at all times.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and feedback.
  • Open and close the restaurant when required.
  • Manage table allocations and service flow during busy periods.
  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained.
  • Support staff training and onboarding.
  • Assist with rota management and shift coordination.
  • Step in to perform all FOH duties when required, such as waiting tables, hosting and bar support.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in a restaurant / hospitality FOH role.
  • Proven ability to work proactively & independently.
  • Strong leadership & communication skills with the ability to give a clear handover.
  • Ability to perform all FOH duties confidently.
  • Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong problem-solving skills & attention to detail.
  • Ability to form and monitor procedures.
  • Understanding costings and GP.
  • Understanding stock control.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous supervisory or assistant management experience.
  • Knowledge of POS systems.
  • Experience working in high-volume restaurants.
  • Basic understanding of cash handling.
  • Food safety or hospitality-related certifications.
  • Passion for seafood or quality dining experiences.

The Employer is: FISH CITY JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.
