Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
Job description
The post holder will assume and provide expert clinical care and management of neonates and their family, in the NNU CAH, using advance clinical skills and high technology management. The post holder will support and facilitate the education of staff working in the NNU CAH and SCBU DHH, trainee ANNP and students, whilst being actively involved in educating the parents/families of neonates. The post holder will develop and review with nurses, medical staff and other health care professionals across the Trust, both medical and nursing policies, procedures and guidelines, leading to improved outcomes in the care provided to these babies and their families.
Responsibilities
- Attend high-risk deliveries as the lead practitioner, ensuring that neonates receive safe and effective resuscitation.
- Promote and monitor safe and effective practice.
- Provide effective leadership and management.
- Contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives.
- Participate in research and quality improvement projects.
- Engage proactively in educational processes, supervision and appraisal.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Registered Nurse on Part 1 (CHILD) or Part 2 (MIDWIFE) of the live NMC Register with relevant neonatal modules.
