Driver
Job description
We are looking for an outgoing and friendly Minibus Driver to support our homes and supported living units in the Ballyclare and Templepatrick area. Our Minibus Drivers work with our homes to facilitate planned events, day trips and outings to local shops and restaurants. Our Driver should show excellent people skills and a flexible approach. Collect and convey service users/patients to Trust Adult/Day Care facilities. Carry out daily routine maintenance of their vehicle and minor repairs (including checking fuel oil, water levels and topping up as required, tyre pressures, vehicle cleaning, changing punctured wheels etc.) Convey clients to centres, for educational classes, outings, luncheon clubs, etc, Operate tail lifts on vehicles where provided, after training. Complete any records in relation to the performance/usage of the vehicle per journey e.g. miles travelled, petrol used, oil replaced, patient/clients carried, loading etc. The information required would vary with the type of vehicle and will be subject to change in the light of development. Daily completion and monthly return of vehicle log sheets. Secure clients travelling in wheelchairs with the recommended restraint device.
Responsibilities
- As a Bus Driver you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations while providing a high level of care and support.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Category D licence.
- CPC card.
- Minimum of 12 months experience of driving minibus and/or coaches.
- Willingness to undertake job related training to fulfil the requirements of the role.
- Proven ability to maintain accurate and up to date records.
Desirable Skills
- Evidence of experience in using safety and mobility aids relating to wheelchair accessible vehicles.
Further Information
37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday but flexibility is required for evening and weekend events. 28 days annual leave. Pension Scheme. Mandatory Training provided online.
