Job description

We’re looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Childcare Assistant to join our Little Larks team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and thrives in a positive, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Manager and Deputy in the day-to-day running of the club.
• Engage and supervise children in fun, age-appropriate activities.
• Collaborate with parents and colleagues to meet individual needs.
• Help with snacks, routines, set up and clean up.
• Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents and activities as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Childcare qualification at Level 3 (preferred). Candidates with Level 2 will be considered and fully supported to complete Level 3 training.
• Understanding of child development, safeguarding, and playwork principles.
• Willing to complete Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection, and Health & Safety training upon hire.
• Available for school collections

Desirable Skills

• Experience in an afterschool or playwork setting (ages 4-12).
• Keen to learn and develop professionally through ongoing training.
• A genuine passion for working with children and helping them thrive.

Further Information

Salary: Up to £13 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications). Work Time: Term Time only with the possibility of additional hours during holidays. Afterschool Club: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm - 6:00pm. Optional Breakfast Club, 7:30am - 9:00am. Benefits: Company pension scheme. Discounted childcare places for employees' children.
