THE EMPLOYER IS: URBAN SCULLERY PUBFOOD NI LTD We are looking for a Kitchen Trainee to join our busy kitchen team at The Deer’s Head, home of Urban Scullery. This JobStart role is ideal for someone who wants to learn how a professional kitchen works. No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided by our experienced chefs. You will gain hands-on experience preparing fresh food, learning kitchen organisation, food hygiene, and basic cooking techniques. Successful candidates will receive full training from experienced chefs, the opportunity to work towards a professional NVQ qualification, and free staff meals during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with daily food preparation and service.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Follow all food hygiene and safety procedures.
• Help with stock rotation and storage.
• Learn new recipes and cooking techniques as part of ongoing training.
• Support the smooth running of the kitchen during busy service periods.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• No previous kitchen experience required.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

• Interest in cooking or hospitality.
• Interest in food or cooking.
