Job description
The Social Club at our Falls Road site is owned by the membership of Michael Davitt GAA. It is the primary income generating source for the GAA Club, and therefore it is critical that the Club provides a safe, relaxed and enjoyable base for all members, local patrons and indeed, any other guests who choose to visit the premises. The Bar Staff can have a major positive influence on all of these aims. They are expected to display high standards of professionalism, performance, attitude and customer service at all times. Permanent Bar Staff are answerable to the Club Bar Manager and Assistant Bar Manager. The key aspects of the job are included in the Responsibilities below. In addition, Bar Staff are expected to attend any training that is deemed necessary or appropriate for the job role, including any mandatory training required to meet legislative, health and safety or safeguarding responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Opening and closing procedures - to ensure building, facilities and equipment security at all times.
- Complying with Staff Rotas.
- Handling of cash, in line with Bar Management procedures.
- High standard of cleanliness and upkeep of the premises, including general bar, toilets, outside areas and lounge.
- Undertake all roles and activities in such a way as to enhance and promote the reputation of Michael Davitt GAA.
- Implement the full application of all health and safety standards.
- Ensure any breakages, damage or accidents are recorded and reported. These must be recorded accurately in a designated book and signed and dated by both the appropriate Bar staff and any witnesses to the incidents in question.
- Supervision of part-time bar staff as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications

- Recent work experience in a bar and/or hospitality environment.
- Strong communication skills.
