An opportunity has arisen for an experienced National Account Manager to join a fast-paced and commercially driven £30m fresh produce business. This is a hands-on commercial role suited to someone who enjoys the pace and complexity of the fresh food sector and is confident managing customer relationships while delivering strong commercial outcomes. Working closely with internal teams across operations, technical, finance and NPD, you will take ownership of key retail and food service accounts, driving growth while maintaining strong, long-term customer partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Managing and developing a portfolio of UK & Irish retail and food service customers
• Driving sales performance and protecting margins across your customer base
• Building long-term customer relationships and securing sustainable commercial agreements
• Managing challenges or issues professionally and maintaining strong customer confidence
• Acting as the primary commercial contact for your accounts
• Working cross-functionally with Operations, Technical, Finance and NPD teams to deliver customer requirements
• Supporting product development, pricing discussions, tenders, forecasting and account planning
• Identifying and developing new commercial and product development opportunities aligned with the company’s growth strategy

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Account Manager or National Account Manager role
• A strong understanding of margins, pricing and commercial negotiations
• A full UK driving licence
• Experience within fresh produce, food manufacturing or FMCG
• The ability to build strong customer relationships while delivering commercial performance

Desirable Skills

• Degree-level education is advantageous but not essential where relevant experience is demonstrated.
