Medical Receptionist
Job description
Ensure smooth running of surgeries/clinics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Following all procedures as laid out in the practice Procedures File.
- Receives/directs patients appropriately during surgery.
- Answer the telephone(s) promptly.
- Send and receive emails.
- Operate computerised appointment system as directed.
- Prepare prescriptions for GP.
- Make appointments or follow up re-appointments with various hospitals, clinics, etc. for patients.
- Order ambulance for patients to attend hospital appts where necessary.
- Filing of patient records.
- Giving blood results including INR to patient.
- Scanning letters into patient computerized files accurately.
- Processing hospital laboratory links daily.
- Adding relevant data re patients on to computer.
- Typing/word processing duties.
- Open and prepare the premises in the morning.
- Lock up and secure the premises at night.
- Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
- Working as part of reception team to ensure smooth running of surgery
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- 2 years customer service experience.
- 5 GCSEs including English & maths or equivalent
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in Healthcare
Further Information
Salary: £24,765.00 per annum, pro rata. Position will be 4 hours a day over 4 days.
