Medical Receptionist


Job description

Ensure smooth running of surgeries/clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Following all procedures as laid out in the practice Procedures File.
  • Receives/directs patients appropriately during surgery.
  • Answer the telephone(s) promptly.
  • Send and receive emails.
  • Operate computerised appointment system as directed.
  • Prepare prescriptions for GP.
  • Make appointments or follow up re-appointments with various hospitals, clinics, etc. for patients.
  • Order ambulance for patients to attend hospital appts where necessary.
  • Filing of patient records.
  • Giving blood results including INR to patient.
  • Scanning letters into patient computerized files accurately.
  • Processing hospital laboratory links daily.
  • Adding relevant data re patients on to computer.
  • Typing/word processing duties.
  • Open and prepare the premises in the morning.
  • Lock up and secure the premises at night.
  • Any other duties which may be assigned from time to time.
  • Working as part of reception team to ensure smooth running of surgery

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • 2 years customer service experience.
  • 5 GCSEs including English & maths or equivalent

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in Healthcare

Further Information

Salary: £24,765.00 per annum, pro rata. Position will be 4 hours a day over 4 days.
