The Project Restoration Support Worker will assist in the delivery of Project Restoration, a cross-community programme supporting men who are experiencing social isolation, unemployment, or reintegration following prison, ill health or social issues. The role involves supporting the day-to-day operation of the men’s wood workshop programme, where participants develop practical woodworking skills while engaging in mentoring, personal development, and cross-community activities. Working as part of a small team, the Support Worker will help create a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where participants can build confidence, develop practical skills, and form positive relationships with others from different backgrounds. Support the ongoing development and delivery of Project Restoration, focusing on men who are unemployed, socially isolated, or rebuilding life after prison. Assist with the coordination and facilitation of the Men’s Workshop, including practical skills sessions, teaching how to safely use workshop machinery, and mentoring activities. Provide one-to-one support, mentoring and signposting to participants in partnership with local agencies. Help maintain accurate project records, data collection, and monitoring. Ensure sessions are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with safeguarding and health & safety standards. Help recruit, support, and coordinate volunteers, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment. Contribute to evaluation reports and funding submissions through data, feedback, and case studies.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ability to assist participants in developing woodworking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Practical skills in one or more relevant trades (e.g. joinery, upcycling, maintenance) and ability to support others in learning these skills.
- Good organisational and record-keeping abilities, including maintaining attendance, progress, and monitoring data.
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including the very occasional evenings or weekends.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults or individuals facing barriers such as unemployment, addiction recovery, or reintegration after custody.
- Qualification in community work, social care, youth work, or a related field.
- Experience of mentoring, coaching, or delivering group sessions.
- Awareness of issues affecting men’s mental health, social isolation, and community re-integration.
- Experience of working with volunteers and/or coordinating community projects.
- Knowledge of local support networks, statutory services, and referral pathways.
- First Aid, Health & Safety, or Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete upon appointment).
- Basic Computer administration skills.
