Job description

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Care Assistant to support an individual in their home. The role involves assisting with personal care and light household tasks while helping the individual maintain comfort, dignity and independence in their daily routine. Support is required on Monday and Friday mornings from 7.30am to 10.00am. Duties during these visits include assisting with breakfast, helping with showering, making the bed and carrying out light household tidying. Additional short visits are required on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. These visits are negotiable and will involve checking if the individual requires assistance and carrying out a brief skin check to help monitor wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including support with showering and hygiene
• Prepare breakfast and support with mealtime routines
• Make the bed and assist with light household tidying
• Carry out wellbeing checks and brief skin checks as required
• Monitor the individual and report any concerns or changes to the employer
• Provide reassurance and supportive companionship during visits

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year experience working as a Care Assistant
• Compassionate and respectful approach to supporting individuals
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions

Desirable Skills

• Full driving licence
• Previous experience supporting individuals in a home care setting
