Job description

The main function of the role is to: Make a meaningful impact by providing high-quality care and support to service users, using a strengths-based, person-centred approach that promotes recovery and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusting, professional relationships with service users, supporting them in decision-making and personal development
  • Assist individuals in managing their mental and physical health, promoting overall wellbeing through tailored plans.
  • Encourage service user involvement, fostering independence and engagement in their care.
  • Plan and coordinate group/individual activities, ensuring the best outcomes for service users and stakeholders.
  • Support recovery through therapeutic interventions and structured activities.
  • To be flexible so to meet the needs of the service.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Possess a full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a driver’s licence. (Business Insurance will be required for this).
  • Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Or: a minimum of 12 months' paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
  • Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
  • Experience of maintaining service user related records.
  • Working knowledge of using IT systems.
