Job description

We are looking for a Structured Data Cabling Engineer with structured cabling copper & fibre experience. Engineers will be responsible for carrying out data cable installs throughout the UK & Ireland. They must also be comfortable working in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of structured cabling systems including copper, fibre and backbone infrastructure.
• Develop detailed cabling layouts, pathway designs, rack elevations, and labelling standards.
• Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, and local building regulations.
• Lead troubleshooting and fault finding activities for network cabling issues across enterprise environments.
• Manage and maintain documentation including as built drawings, test results, and asset inventories.
• Supervise cabling technicians and subcontractors, ensuring work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project timelines.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Containment systems installation.
• Expertise in copper and fibre cabling design, installation, and certification.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards.
• Skilled in leading cabling teams, managing subcontractors, and coordinating site activities.
• Proficient in Fluke testing, troubleshooting, and producing technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client facing skills.
