The project manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the Ballymena site, assisting with completion of business activities in the following areas: Online Retail; Packaging & Assembly; Giftware. They will also work alongside our Head of Business, to help bring in new work tasks from local companies. The role will include hands on work with trainees, supporting them to complete work-based tasks, whilst monitoring and reporting on their progress across all areas
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for day to day running of the Ballymena site, including the planning, development and implementation, in line with the project’s objectives.
- Day to day management of staff, volunteers and programme trainees at the Ballymena site.
- Deal with any day-to-day problems in the work area as they happen and seek help from line manager, if needed.
- Provide in work support to trainees in accordance with delivery expectations.
- Monitor and record outcomes of the project on an ongoing basis and provide these results in report form to funders, senior management, the board of trustees and other relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure all documentation relating to trainees is completed and maintained in an accurate, timely and respectful manner and in compliance with data protection policy.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum of a recognised professional qualification at Level 3 or above in a relevant field. (e.g. A-Level, NVQ Level 3, BTEC Level 3).
- 5 Level Two qualifications to include literacy and numeracy, (e.g. G.C.S.E, NVQ Level 2, BTEC Level 2).
- A proven track record of 1 or more years’ experience, within the last 3 years of working within an employment/training field as a project manager or equivalent. (Number of years’ experience may be increased should there be a need to).
- Either working in or managing a customer focused enterprise or business, working within a customer facing service, with demonstrable experience of balancing customer care and commercial interests.
- Knowledge and experience of working with individuals with neurodiversity and/or learning disability and the barriers they face.
- Experience of leading a team and motivating people to work to targets.
- Ability to conduct assessments of trainees by appraising their skills, identifying their needs and organising and delivering necessary training in accordance with the objectives of the project.
- Experience and good knowledge of I.T systems including ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel) Internet and email.
- Valid driving license and access to transport appropriate for the post. (Consideration will be given to candidates, who because of a disability, cannot hold a driving license but they must be able to travel to fulfil the duties of the post).
Desirable Skills
- Experience of sublimation printing and heat pressing.
- A teaching/training qualification.
- Knowledge of OCN qualification delivery and assessment.
- Experience of working within a social firm.
- Experience of working on funded projects.
