Job description
Provide the highest possible standard of care and support to Service Users by actively promoting and implementing Recovery by using a strengths based person centred approach. At Shiels Court, we provide 24-hour supported living for adults living with a wide range of mental health diagnoses, autism, and addiction-related needs. Responsibilities
- Develop & maintain a trusting & professional relationship with Service Users and act in a supportive & empathetic manner towards them.
- Contribute to & help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
- Support Service Users to manage their Mental health, physical health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual wellbeing and safety management plans.
- Actively encourage the involvement of Service Users in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by them.
- Implement & adhere to Inspire Mental Health’s Journey Procedures, involving Service Users at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Possess a full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a driver’s licence.
- Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- OR a minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people within a health and social care setting.
- Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users.
- Experience of maintaining service user and agency records.
- Working knowledge of using IT systems.
Further Information
To be flexible as the role will involve working on a rota/shift basis in Supported Housing. Shifts will include early shifts, late shifts, night shifts, weekend and/or night cover as required to meet the needs of the scheme.
