Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: MCNAGHTEN LIMITED The Gym Receptionist plays a role in supporting both the fitness and customer service functions of the gym. The role involves supporting members in achieving their fitness goals, and providing a friendly, professional front-of-house service to ensure an excellent member experience from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Greet members and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service.
- Handle membership enquiries, registrations, renewals, and payments.
- Manage class bookings, personal training schedules, and facility reservations.
- Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person queries professionally.
- Provide information on gym services, timetables, and promotions.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with maintaining gym equipment, cleanliness, and safety checks.
- Support with gym events, classes, and community initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service focus and friendly, approachable manner.
- Able to demonstrate a passion for fitness, health, and helping others succeed.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic IT and administrative skills.
- Understanding of health and safety practices in a gym environment.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in a customer service or front-of-house role.
- First Aid certification (advantageous but not essential).
