THE EMPLOYER IS: DANIEL ANTHONYS HAIR LTD We are seeking a Junior Hairdresser to join our salon team. In this role, you will support senior stylists while developing your own skills in cutting, colouring, styling, and client care. You’ll assist with daily salon operations, help maintain a clean and welcoming environment, and deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assisting: Supporting senior stylists with coloring, cutting, treatments, and preparing clients.
• Technical Skills: Performing basic shampooing, conditioning, blow-drying, and simple styling.
• Salon Maintenance: Keeping the salon clean, organized, tidy, and stocked.
• Client Service: Greeting clients, managing bookings, and assisting with consultations.
• Learning & Development: Participating in training sessions, practicing new techniques, and studying current trends.
• Shampooing and Conditioning: Providing relaxing scalp massages and treatments.
• Styling and Finishing: Blow-drying, straightening, curling.
• Assisting: Preparing clients, mixing color, and supporting senior stylists with complex tasks.
• Basic Cutting: Performing simple, foundational cuts.
• Health & Safety: Adhere to sanitation standards, proper chemical handling, and hygiene protocols.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Ability to socialise with customers and keep good rapport.
• Knowledge of cutting techniques.
• Styling skills.
• Colour knowledge.
• Ability to adhere to sanitation standards, proper chemical handling and hygiene protocols.

Desirable Skills

• NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing: Often the minimum requirement to work on the floor.
• Salon Experience: Previous experience as an assistant or trainee is highly regarded.
• Working towards Level 3: Shows ambition for career progression.
