THE EMPLOYER IS: MONDAY'S CHILD JEWELLERY LTD This role is primarily focused on delivering exceptional front-of-house service and supporting daily retail operations within the store.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers in a warm, professional manner.
  • Provide detailed product knowledge on jewellery collections, gemstones, metals, and care instructions.
  • Assist customers with selecting items for special occasions such as engagements, weddings, and gifts.
  • Achieve individual and store sales targets.
  • Handle customer inquiries, special orders, and after-sales service support.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
  • Process cash, credit/debit card, and digital payments.
  • Handle refunds, exchanges, and store credits according to company policy.
  • Balance the cash register and ensure accurate end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial transactions.
  • Schedule and confirm customer appointments.
  • Coordinate with store management and jewellers regarding appointment availability.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer bookings and service requests.
  • Receive, check, and record incoming stock deliveries.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low stock or discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and assist with audits.
  • Ensure proper tagging, pricing.
  • Prepare items for display and restock showcases as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of display cases, counters, and store floor.
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are upheld.
  • Assist with displays & promotional setups.
  • Ensure the store environment remains welcoming, safe, and organised at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confident in delivering a high standard of face-to-face customer service.
  • Ability to build rapport and create a welcoming, engaging store environment.
  • Professional written communication skills for responding to customer emails and online enquiries.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to confidently promote products and experiences.
  • Proactive approach to identifying sales opportunities and upselling where appropriate.
  • Customer-focused mindset with an understanding of delivering memorable retail experiences.
  • Experience handling cash and processing card/digital transactions.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when operating POS systems and reconciling tills.
  • Ability to follow financial and security procedures carefully.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Experience coordinating appointments and maintaining accurate booking records.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a busy retail environment.
  • Confidence in guiding and assisting customers in hands-on jewellery-making experiences.
  • Ability to supervise small groups and support private bookings professionally.
  • Flexible and adaptable when working at external events, markets, or pop-up stores.
  • Comfortable learning and using e-commerce back-office systems.
  • Ability to process online orders accurately and manage stock updates.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control and stock replenishment processes.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience working in a jewellery store.
  • Creative flair and an interest in jewellery, design, or fashion is advantageous.
