Job description

At Inspire Wellbeing, we support people with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities and autism to live fulfilling lives. We are looking for a Cook to provide high-quality, nutritious meals within one of our schemes.

Responsibilities

  • To plan and implement a menu for residents taking into account: - hygiene, nutrition, variety, personal preference, special diets.
  • To maintain an efficient and cost effective system for ordering all goods, foods and vegetables necessary for the preparation and cooking of meals.
  • To maintain the overall safety of the scheme in accordance with the Health and Safety policy. Specifically Health and Safety Hygiene for the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Observing correct use and care of all equipment.
  • Ensure that kitchen supplies and cleaning materials are well stocked and stored safely through liaison with the manager or authorised person.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be willing to work various shifts including weekends.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience of maintaining Health and Safety and Hygiene Standards.
  • Proven ability to work independently to undertake a range of routine tasks.
  • Proven ability of planning and preparing menus and be able to order accordingly to meet the needs of the clients.
