Electrical Panel Builder
Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: MAVERICK CONTROLS LTD Maverick Controls LTD are seeking a Electrical Panel Builder to join the team. This is an entry-level position providing practical experience in assembling, wiring, and testing control panels. The role focuses on technical skills development, workplace practices, and employability skills through structured, supervised training.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow wiring diagrams and associated documentation.
- Contribute to the assembly of electrical control panels/switchgear products accurately and efficiently, adhering to safety standards.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of electricity (additional training will be provided).
- Schematics & Materials: Interpret electrical schematics, and use of correct component and materials.
- Use of multi-stranded cables, adherence to color-coding standards, and logical routing (high voltage/power separate from low voltage/signals).
- Understand the differences and functions of component infrastructure within a control panel and the cable ratings used as part of the build.
- Work with colleagues to address and resolve installation issues.
- Quality Maintenance: Uphold a quality service by implementing and maintaining company standards.
- Support the install and commission plant and equipment to company standards.
- Carry out plant and equipment inspection prior to use.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times, including using correct PPE, safe use of hand held power tools.
- Willingness to undertake training and development courses to support safe working practices within your role.
- Motivation for continuous improvement.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook).
