Leisure Attendant Team Leader
Job description
Assist the Service Manager in ensuring all Health and Safety procedures and policies are adhered to by all staff, contractors and users, supervise staff and assist in the day to day organising, monitoring and compliance of staff duties to ensure safe, professional and efficient standards. Assist the Service Manager in the provision of the day-to-day operational duties, ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service within the Council’s Leisure Facilities/Services.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Service Manager by overseeing the day to day operational duties of the facility and acting as the ‘Team Leader on Shift’, and in their absence be responsibility for the control of the building as a duty officer,
- and ensure adherence to all procedures and policies.
- Ensure high levels of cleanliness are maintained at all times and carry out regular compliance and monitoring checks and address non-compliance as required.
- Maintain relevant operational records, deal with complaints from users/staff, and ensure all users comply with the facilities terms and conditions of use.
- Undertake key holder responsibilities for allocated facilities and ensure that the security (Internal/External) of the site is maintained at all times.
- Supervise, assist and prepare set ups, dismantle and/or store equipment in the delivery of facility programmed services accordance with standard operating procedures and health and safety obligations.
- Supervise users of leisure facilities/services and ensure that customers conduct themselves appropriately and in accordance with the facilities rules and regulations.
- Identify potential hazards, log and report all incidents/accidents ensuring appropriate action is taken in line with operating procedures and health and safety obligations.
- Assist in other areas of the centre and provide cover as required including reception/clerical duties including cash handling.
- Assist in the maintenance and management of the facility and undertaking regular compliance procedures, testing, and plant duties, taking remedial action when necessary and report faults accordingly.
- Carry out Leisure attendant duties and to act as the designated first aider on shift and deal with any customer related queries and escalate these as required.
- Participate in and ensure compliance with all Council policies and procedures and operate within the highest standards of personal behaviour which reflect the core values of the organisation.
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements and legislation in accordance with Council’s Policies and Procedures.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to scale, which may be required from time to time.
- Comply with and actively promote the Council’s policies and procedures on all aspects of equality.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Hold a current and in date National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
- Two years’ demonstrable experience working in a leisure and sports environment to include: supervising staff, customer service, carrying out and maintaining high standards of cleaning and set up and dismantle equipment.
- Knowledge and application of Health and Safety in a leisure and sports environment.
- The post will be subject to an enhanced AccessNI check for successful candidates in accordance with Access NI Code of Practice.
