Job description

Assist in the efficient production of high quality food within a nursing home whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness as directed by the Cook.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of all food and snacks.
• Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.
• Perform all aspects of kitchen duties as directed.
• Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area is carried out effectively.
• Participate in staff meetings and mandatory training as required.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work using own initiative.

Desirable Skills

• Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage but not essential.
