Job description
Work within Theatre in the Acute Directorate, Southern Health & Social Care Trust, providing safe person centred nursing care and support to patients, their families and carers. The post holder will have and develop specialist knowledge and competence in caring for surgical, anaesthetic, maternity, critically ill adults and paediatrics through support, guidance and experience obtained through mentorship, CPD and working as part of the MDT team. The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care for elective and 24/7 emergency care and out of department care. The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision. The post holder will train student nurses, qualified (nursing and medical) and unqualified staff via mentorship, preceptorship, proqual assessment and supervise training and support of new trainees independent and induction of agency staff.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Must have 2 years post-registration experience in Theatre Setting to include skills in trauma, orthopaedic and ENT surgery.
