Relief Support Worker


Job description

At Peter’s Hill, we support a group of people with learning disabilities, mental health diagnosis and complex needs to live fulfilling, independent lives in a warm and vibrant shared setting. With thirteen single occupancy apartments, this is a service dedicated to a person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic nature towards them.
  • Display compassion and sensitivity to the people who use our services’ and next of kin needs.
  • Contribute towards a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support the people who use our services to manage their physical health, mental health and wellbeing through the development and implementation of an individual support plan.
  • Identifies problems and issues and work with the people who use our services to provide the most appropriate solutions to promote wellbeing for all.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be willing to work various shifts, which may include days, nights, evenings and weekends
  • Experience of supporting an individual with household tasks and/or providing emotional support
  • Knowledge and understanding of intellectual disability issues.

Further Information

Please note, from the 1st April 2026, the following new minimum wage rates will apply: 16-17 £8.00, 18-20 £10.85, 21 plus £12.71 per hour.
