Triex is an electrical infrastructure specialist, trusted in the delivery of complex projects across the Renewables, Data Centres, Utilities & ICP sectors. We are a fast-growing organisation, expanding across the UK, Ireland and Europe, delivering complex electrical balance of plant solutions for critical infrastructure projects. We are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding commercial team! This role will play a key part in the commercial management of major electrical infrastructure projects, including data centres, battery storage, substations and ICP works. We have expanded to deliver projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe, with exciting active sites in Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Denmark. This role will manage all commercial and financial aspects of projects from tender through to final account, ensuring strong cost control, contractual compliance and commercial performance. Working closely with Project Managers, site teams and clients, they will be responsible for protecting margin, managing risk and driving accurate financial reporting across complex, fast-paced infrastructure environments. Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit and negotiate tenders, budgets and cost estimates for electrical infrastructure projects
- Manage project cost control, forecasts and monthly commercial reporting
- Carry out site measurements and valuations, including re-measures where required
- Prepare and manage applications for payment, variations and final accounts
- Identify, assess and agree change orders and compensation events
- Monitor subcontractor accounts, payments and procurement packages
- Support commercial risk management, ensuring contractual obligations are understood and met
- Attend client, site and project meetings across UK and European project locations, providing clear commercial input and advice
- Ensure all commercial processes align with contract requirements (NEC/JCT) and company procedures
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost capture and project financial performance
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc or equivalent) or related commercial discipline
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the M&E or electrical infrastructure sector
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts (essential) and/or JCT frameworks
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project cost, risk and margin
- Excellent numerical, analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
