Job description

This role requires the preparation of ingredients, supports production of various bakery items, decorating and finishing and packaging & labelling of bakery products and & helps prepare products ready to dispatch to our stores.

Responsibilities

• Weighing ingredients, preparing mixes, fillings, icing, toppings.
• Lining trays and preparing tins.
• Dough scaling and shaping.
• Assisting bakers during production.
• Icing cakes, decorating traybakes, chocolate finishing.
• Filling pastries.
• Cutting, portioning and packing bakery items.
• Ensure correct labelling of products (ingredients, allergens, dates).
• Quality checking finished items.
• Prepares products ready for dispatch, order picking for each location.
• Organising dispatch and ensuring timely distribution.
• Stock rotation and basic stock handling.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Experience in a food production or kitchen environment.
• Good attention to detail, especially with labelling and allergens.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active role.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and processes accurately.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• Previous bakery or food manufacturing experience.
• Basic food hygiene knowledge (e.g. Level 2 Food Safety).
• Experience with packing, labelling, or dispatch processes.
• Confidence with portioning and finishing baked goods.
• Understanding of stock rotation (FIFO).
