Job description
MPA Healthcare are recruiting on behalf of our client Apex Housing for the following role, Residential Worker complex need, Belmont Cottages. To be responsive to the individual needs of service users within the framework of their Person Centred Plans and to respond flexibly to changing needs.
Responsibilities
- To respect and promote the rights and entitlements of people with learning disabilities and complex needs, and to enable them to participate as fully as possible in their communities.
- To be responsive to the individual needs of service users within the framework of their Person Centred Plans and to respond flexibly to changing needs.
- To be able to effectively manage a large frequency of incidents involving adults who display complex needs (mental health issues, physical disabilities, and varying levels of challenging behaviours).
- To be able to effectively manage service users who may display severe learning disabilities combined with serious challenging behaviour and/or additional multiple disability and/or mental health issues.
- To work within agreed management protocols and guidelines for individuals with complex needs.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- QCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a support role working with adults with learning difficulties AND challenging behaviour in a community/residential setting.
- Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
- Have previous administration experience.
- OR A minimum of 2 year’s experience in a support role working with adults with learning difficulties AND challenging behaviour in a community/residential setting.
- Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
- Have previous administration experience.
- And Above experience must demonstrate the use of IT and the provision of administrative support to include regulatory, scheme and resident reports.
Desirable Skills
- QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
- ECDL/CLAIT/or alternative equivalent computer literacy certificate.
