Responsibilities

  • Develop & maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to, and help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support the people who use our services to manage their physical health, mental health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual care plans.
  • Work closely with statutory professionals, including the Positive Behaviour Support Service and Intensive Behaviour Support Services, to ensure plans are delivered consistently and appropriately as outlined by the commissioners.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of the people who use our services in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions in difficulties encountered by the people who use our services.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • To be willing to work various shifts which may include day shifts, sleep over cover, night cover, evening and weekend work.
  • Professional qualification for example: Professional Social Work qualification and be registered or eligible for registration on appointment on the NISCC’s register.
  • Or a first level registered nurse on the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council Or a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC.
  • Or A relevant Degree i.e. Psychology, Social Care and be registered or eligible for registration on appointment on the NISCC’s register.
  • Or NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent and be registered or eligible for registration on appointment on the NISCC’s register.
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a Social Care setting.
  • Experience of liaising with statutory and other voluntary agencies.
  • Proven experience of financial planning and managing monies.
  • Have proven experience of motivating Services Users.
