Job description

Carrying out farm duties, manual and specialised work in relation to the day to day running of Camphill Community Farm, including renewal initiatives. The farm is a social care farm for adults with a learning disability. An appropriate safe work environment has to be kept at all times. You will be required to operate various types of farm machinery and be co-responsible for herd management and the guidance of volunteers, engaged people, trainees and others.

Responsibilities

• Welfare of cows, milking cows, seasonal hay making, tractor and hay crane work, checking fencing, etc.
• Work in line with and be accountable and report to a delegated senior management team on a regular basis.
• Adhere to the policies and procedures of Camphill Community Clanabogan and to respect the policies and practices.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Experience and competency in field and farm machinery work.
• Knowledge and experience of farming and required standards. Training will also be given.
• Good interpersonal, communication skills.
• Flexibility essential.

Desirable Skills

• Full clean driver's licence.
• Experience and interest in sustainable methods and practices.
