Trainee Claims Handler


Job description

The Trainee Claims Handler will be trained to manage an allocation of work items from initial claims registration to resolution - involving pre-litigation Public Liability Claims, and Ex-Gratia Property Damage quantum only claims.

Responsibilities

  • To successfully complete the trainee programme over a 2-year period, to progress to a Claims Handler, Band 4 through a continuous assessment and development programme.
  • To gain specific work-based experience aimed at fulfilling the requirements of a Claims Handler.
  • Identify Public Liability Claims with a potential high value to ensure compliance with policy conditions, report to Section management, and support proactive investigation and monitoring.
  • To undertake a range of administrative duties including, but not limited to customer / stakeholder contact, data input, record keeping and reporting.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Possess five GCSEs at Grade C or above to include Maths and English or equivalent level qualification (Level 2).
  • At least two years’ administrative experience/customer service experience in an office environment.
